KATHY SIMPSON – Guitar/Keys/Vocals
Kathy began singing in church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where her father was a minister. Her mother taught her to play the piano, and she received her first guitar for her 12th birthday. When she learned enough chords, she began writing original songs and performing in local college coffee houses.
What followed was years of performing in clubs and lounges, locally as well as nationally; as a single, in duos, trios, rock bands and show groups.
In 1979, Kathy met and studied voice and piano with a brilliant musician and vocal coach, Herb Buchanan Eidemiller. Herb had recently moved back to Covington Ohio from New York City when his wife became ill. Herb had worked with, and arranged for many bands, and singers, including Dionne Warwick, Eydie Gorme, and Teresa Brewer.
Kathy's recordings include an album of original music, titled " Girls Don't Play Rock and Roll” (1980), an album of 11 contemporary Christian songs “He Touched Me” (2000), and most recently, “Vagabond” (2011), a collection of original songs as well as a few covers.
