Kathy met Barry Hensley in the "rock and roll days" when Barry had a band named Amnesty.

In 1974 they formed a duo and worked the Dayton/Cincinnati circuit playing songs from Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, and more; even tossing in a few originals from time to time.
